It’s nice that the more normal/routine life gets in New York, there is still one thing that can remind me where I am and how exciting that is.
I know it is sad that this is on my iPod.
And in any other situation I would judge myself and other people.
But my sister put it on a playlist for my leaving night before I left, so it reminds me of her, and home, and that what I am doing is amazing.
So I don’t care.
…but it is a little embarrassing when it comes on on the Subway. I always have a shifty look around to check that nobody can hear what I’m listening to. And then keep listening!
I want to wake up in a city
That doesn’t sleep
And find I’m king of the hill
Top of the heapThese little town blues
Are melting away
I’ll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there
I’ll make it anywhere
It’s up to you
New York, New York
